R/V Explorer

R/V Explorer

This is Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center's flagship, a 38' Bertram with twin Cat's known as the Explorer.  I earned my 50-ton ticket captaining this boat and was proudly taught to maintain it by the NSUOC's Harbormaster and Dive Safety Officer.  One of my favorite places in the World is at the helm of the Explorer.

F/V Endorfin Rush

F/V Endorfin Rush

The Endorfin Rush is a 33' Grady Express with twin 250hp Yamahas.  I have overseen the Endorfin Rush's maintenance since 2008.  The Endorfin Rush routinely logs 100+hrs per season running to and from Maine's shark grounds while tournament fishing.  The privately owned Endorfin Rush hails from Biddeford Pool, ME and has won two shark tournaments since 2008, most recently the 2012 Casco Bay Classic.

The Lucy Foreman

The Lucy Foreman

The Lucy (foreground)  is a 21' Boston Whaler used for supporting nearshore scientific diving work.  I proudly operated and maintained the Lucy for several years as Harbormaster Assistant at the Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center.

R/V Llyr

R/V Llyr

The R/V Llyr is a 23' Maritime Patriot with a 225hp Honda.  The R/V Llyr has been the flagship of the University of New England Marine Science Center since 2005.  I have overseen the maintenance and development of the Llyr since 2007, which has logged over 1800hrs of student-centered field experience.

R/V Vitruvius

R/V Vitruvius

The R/V Vitruvius is an 18' Maritime Skiff with a 60hp Yamaha.  The Vitruvius hull came new to the University of New England Marine Science Center in 2009.  I hung the outboard and installed all peripheral systems on this boat.

The Vitruvius is used in the Saco River Estuary and the nearshore skinny waters around Saco Bay.

23' Trophy

23' Trophy

This 23' Trophy with 225hp Mercury is privately owned and hails from Biddeford Pool, ME.  I have overseen maintenance on this boat since 2010 including installation of new electronics, control cables, and trim tab controls.

The Voyager

The Voyager

The Voyager is a 28' Phoenix used to support scientific diving and research.  The Voyager was acquired by the Nova Southeastern University Oceanographic Center to assist with a long term beach renourishment monitoring project. We repowered the Voyager with twin Barracuda Marine diesels.

Big Boy

Big Boy

Big Boy was custom outfitted by a dear friend in Marathon, Florida for spearfishing, diving and commercial fishing.  I've never actually worked on Big Boy, but have spent countless days far offshore always returning home with fish.  This boat is about generosity, good friends, great stories, and finding fish.  You can only appreciate what it is like to have a boat that finds fish once you've been on one....Big Boy is one of them.
